What is Kitapz?

Kitapz is an interactive story-reading platform built for children. By reading stories you can earn XP, collect badges and level up. Some stories are branching — the story changes based on your choices! By combining reading with gamification, the platform aims to increase children's interest in reading.

Which age groups is it for?

Kitapz is designed for children aged 4-18. Stories are categorized by difficulty level (Easy, Medium, Hard) and age range. The recommended age range is shown on each story's detail page. Parents can manage their children's access to age-appropriate content.

Can it be used for free?

Yes! Kitapz has a free (Guest) plan. With it you can access many stories, earn XP and collect badges. The premium plan adds extras such as access to all stories, special badges, a monthly diamond credit and AI image creation.

How do I sign up?

You can create a free account by clicking the "Sign Up" button in the top right. You can register with your email address and a password. After registering, you can create a profile for your child and start reading stories right away.

Is there a mobile app?

For now Kitapz is a web-based platform accessible from all modern browsers. Our site is mobile-friendly, so you can comfortably use it on a phone or tablet. Plans to develop a mobile app are underway.

How do I read a story?

You can browse categories or search from the "Stories" page. Click a story you like, read about it on the detail page and click the "Start Reading" button. The story progresses part by part and can branch based on your choices.

What is an interactive story?

Interactive stories are stories that change based on the reader's choices. At certain points you're offered options, and your choice affects how the story goes. Different choices lead to different endings (good ending, neutral ending, bad ending). You can re-read the same story with different choices!

How do XP and levels work?

You earn XP (experience points) every time you finish a story. You get 10-100 XP depending on the story's difficulty. You level up every 500 XP. Your level is shown on your profile, and some badges require reaching certain levels.

How do I earn badges?

Badges are awarded automatically when you complete certain achievements. For example: reading your first story, reaching certain XP levels, building a daily streak, or making brave or compassionate choices earns you badges. You can see all badges and how to earn them on the Badges page.

What is syllable mode?

Syllable mode shows words split into syllables. This feature is especially helpful for children who are learning to read. You can toggle syllable mode from profile settings or while reading a story. Example: the word "Merhaba" is shown as "Mer-ha-ba", and "Little" as "Lit-tle".

What is bionic reading?

Bionic reading is a method that bolds the beginning of words so the eye scans faster. Research suggests it can improve reading speed and comprehension. You can enable bionic reading mode from profile settings.

Is my reading progress saved?

Yes! All your reading progress is saved automatically. When you leave a story unfinished, you can continue where you left off. You can see your unfinished stories in the "Continue the Adventure" section on your home page. Your total reading time and number of completed stories are also tracked.

What subscription plans are there?

Kitapz offers four different plans:

Guest (Free): Basic stories, 1 child profile
Single: All stories, 1 child profile, 50 diamonds/month
Core Family: All stories, 3 child profiles, 100 diamonds/month
Extended Family: All stories, 5 child profiles, 150 diamonds/month

What does premium membership offer?

With premium membership you get: unlimited access to all premium stories, a monthly diamond credit (for AI image creation), special premium badges, a daily free AI image, access to all art styles, priority support and early access privileges.

What's the difference between monthly and yearly?

expand_more

The monthly plan renews every month and can be canceled at any time. The yearly plan pays for 12 months and saves about 20%. With the yearly plan you effectively get 2 months free. Both plans offer the same features.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription from Account Settings > Subscription Management. When you cancel, you keep using premium features until the end of your current billing period. After cancellation your account returns to the free plan and your data is preserved.

What are the payment methods?

You can pay securely through the iyzico infrastructure. Credit card, debit card and bank transfer/EFT options are available. All payments are encrypted with an SSL certificate and your card details are stored securely. Payment is in Turkish lira (TL).

How do I update my billing details?

You can update your first name, last name, national ID number, address and city from Account Settings > Billing Information. Your billing details are used in your next payment. You can also access your past invoices from the same page.

How do I create a child profile?

From Parent Dashboard > Profile Management, click "Add New Profile" to create a profile for your child. Set your child's name, age range and avatar preferences. Depending on your subscription plan, you can add multiple child profiles.

What is PIN protection?

You can assign a 4-digit PIN code to each child profile. This PIN is asked for when switching your child's profile or accessing the parent dashboard. This way your child can only use their own profile and cannot reach parent settings.

How do I track my child's progress?

From Parent Dashboard > Child Analytics you can see detailed statistics: total reading time, number of completed stories, badges earned, XP and level status, daily reading streak, most-read categories and story choices (brave, compassionate, etc.).

How do I transfer diamonds?

From Parent Dashboard > Diamond Management you can send diamonds to your children. You can transfer diamonds from your account to a chosen child profile. Your child can use these diamonds to create AI images. You can also take them back.

Can I create more than one child profile?

Yes, you can create multiple child profiles depending on your subscription plan. You can create 1 in the Guest and Single plans, 3 in the Core Family plan and 5 in the Extended Family plan. Each child's progress, badges and avatar are kept separate.

What are tokens and how do I earn them?

Tokens are the in-game currency used to buy avatar items in the Avatar Shop. Every new profile starts with 100 tokens. You can earn tokens by finishing stories, earning badges and doing daily tasks. Tokens are used only for avatar items.

What are diamonds and what are they used for?

Diamonds are the premium currency used to create AI images. Premium subscribers receive a monthly diamond credit. With diamonds you can create images in different styles and resolutions. The cost ranges from 5-50 diamonds per image. You can buy extra diamonds or earn them with your premium subscription.

How do I customize my avatar?

You can buy items in different categories from the Avatar Shop: face, hair, clothing, accessories, etc. Build your avatar with the items you buy. Each item has a rarity (common, rare, epic, legendary) and a price. Your avatar is shown on your profile and while reading stories.

How do I create an image with AI?

Go to the Image Creator page. Describe the image you want or pick one of the ready templates. Choose an art style and resolution, then click the "Create" button. Your image will be ready in a few seconds. The images you create are saved in your gallery.

Do I get a daily free image?

Premium subscribers get a daily free image. Free users don't have this. The daily limit resets at midnight. After the limit, you can keep creating images using diamonds. The total daily image limit also varies by plan.

What is dyslexia mode?

Dyslexia mode is a display mode designed for users with reading difficulties. It uses the OpenDyslexic typeface, increases line spacing and widens letter spacing. This keeps letters from blurring together and makes reading easier. You can enable it from the "Aa" icon in the top menu.

What do Magic Glasses do?

Magic Glasses apply special color filters for users with color blindness. There are four modes: Protanopia (red-blind), Deuteranopia (green-blind), Tritanopia (blue-blind) and Achromatopsia (high contrast). You can pick the right mode from the glasses icon in the top menu.

How do I enable color-blind modes?

Click the glasses icon in the top menu. From the menu that opens, pick the mode that matches your type of color blindness. The mode you choose is applied instantly and your preference is saved. To turn it off, choose the "Off" option from the same menu.

Is there a high-contrast mode?

Yes! There are two high-contrast options. You can enable dark mode from the moon/sun icon in the top menu. Additionally, the "Achromatopsia" mode in the Magic Glasses menu provides even higher contrast and offers a color-independent black-and-white view.

I'm having a technical problem, what should I do?

First try refreshing the page and clearing your browser cache. If the problem persists, try a different browser. If you still can't fix it, create a ticket in the "Technical Issue" category from the Support page. Describe your problem in detail and include a screenshot if possible.

What about browser compatibility?

Kitapz works in all modern browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge and Opera. For the best experience we recommend keeping your browser up to date. Internet Explorer is not supported. Mobile browsers are also fully supported.

I forgot my password, what should I do?

Click the "Forgot Password" link on the sign-in page. Enter your registered email address. You'll receive a password reset link within a few minutes. The link is valid for 24 hours. If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam/junk folder or open a support ticket.

How can I delete my account?

To delete your account, create a ticket in the "Account" category from the Support page. Under Türkiye's KVKK law, your deletion request will be processed within 30 days. After deletion, all your data (progress, badges, images) is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
